I’m reaping the fruit of someone else’s labor.
The previous owner of our home tilled the soil, planted the seeds, watered, pruned, and did whatever else gardeners do (I’m learning). And then bless her heart she moved away and we moved in. She never saw the fruit. But every night my family does. We get to enjoy the fruit/vegetables she planted and we are ever so thankful.
It got me thinking of course in a spiritual sense too. Who labored before me, even generations before me, that I am now reaping the fruit from? I love that introspection, but I don’t want to stop there. I also want someone to reap the reward of my labor someday.
May we be women who till, plant, water, prune, and labor so the fruit we bear will live on for generations to come – even if we never see the fruit.
