A tree was a roadblock on my walking path. Every day I’d come to the same tree and turn around to retrace my steps back to the beginning. Until one day my husband cut down the tree. When he did, a whole new path opened up for me to explore.
What roadblocks do you keep running into? If I’m honest I keep ducking and detouring around the same daily limbs on my path, not to mention the aforementioned tree that was a constant dead end.
But what if we cut them down instead? Scripture says, “Let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.” Hebrews 12:1-3
Friend, we can’t finish our race if we keep stopping and retracing our steps back to the beginning. Let’s cut down the trees in our way that we can and trust God to cut down the trees we can’t. I have a feeling the path that opens will be beautiful to explore.
