From Dreams to Drive: Trusting God Enough to Take the Next Step with Taneshia Yerby

by | May 19, 2026 | The Love Offering Podcast Show Notes

Have you ever felt God stirring a dream in your heart—but fear, insecurity, or uncertainty kept you from moving forward?

Maybe you’ve questioned whether you’re qualified. Maybe you’ve worried about what others might think if you fail. Or maybe you’ve simply wondered if you heard God correctly in the first place.

In this encouraging episode of The Love Offering Podcast, I had the joy of talking with author and entrepreneur Taneshia Yerby about her book From Dreams to Drive: Trust God’s Plan, Embrace Your Gifts, and Walk in Purpose. Together, we discussed what it looks like to move from simply dreaming about your purpose to courageously walking it out—even when you still feel afraid.

Taneshia shared openly about her own journey of insecurity, comparison, and uncertainty. Like many women, she struggled with fear of failure and the pressure of how others might perceive her. But through prayer, Scripture, and obedience, she began to realize that God wasn’t asking her to have the entire plan figured out—He was simply asking her to take the next faithful step.

One of the most powerful reminders from our conversation was this:

“We’re not really afraid of failing—we’re afraid of people seeing us fail.”

How true is that?

So often, fear keeps us stuck—not because we don’t desire to obey God, but because we’re worried about how obedience might look to others. Yet throughout Scripture, we see faithful men and women following God without knowing the full picture. Abraham didn’t know where he was going. Noah didn’t fully understand what was coming. The disciples left everything to follow Jesus without knowing what the future held.

Obedience has always required faith.

Taneshia also reminded listeners that God often develops us through the process. Challenges, delays, and discomfort don’t necessarily mean we are outside of God’s will. Sometimes they are the very tools He uses to strengthen our faith, build perseverance, and deepen our dependence on Him.

During our conversation, I shared my own story of failing public speaking in college and later having the opportunity to appear on Good Morning America years later. Looking back, I can see that God had placed certain dreams in my heart long before I understood how He would fulfill them. The path looked different than I expected, but His faithfulness remained the same.

Friend, maybe God has placed a dream on your heart too.

Maybe your dream is writing a book, starting a ministry, launching a business, staying faithful in motherhood, restoring your marriage, or simply becoming the woman God created you to be. Whatever it is, don’t dismiss the quiet prompting of the Holy Spirit just because the road feels uncertain.

As Taneshia beautifully said:

“It is a lot easier for God to guide your steps when you are willing to move your feet.”

You don’t have to know every step to begin. You simply have to trust the One who does.

In This Episode, We Discuss:
