Never Alone: God Is Always with Us by Stacey Szczepanski

by | Apr 1, 2025 | The Love Offering Guest Blog Series

God meets us in many different places. He calls us to open our hearts, eyes, and ears daily to truly feel His love, see His presence, and hear His voice.

This takes time.

This takes stillness.

This takes quietness.

In a culture where we rush from one thing to the next and feel the urgency to respond and act, we do not allow ourselves enough time, stillness, and quietness to feel, see, and hear God.

For us as His children to spread His light and love wherever we go, we must choose to silence the noise and spend time with the One who has “fearfully and wonderfully made” us. Psalm 139:14

As a single woman desiring a husband, marriage, and a child/children of my own someday, I have been feeling God meet me at my kitchen table lately. I posted about two specific times in the last few months. I am praying you can connect in some way and be open to feeling, seeing, and hearing where God might be offering His love to you.

Lonely vs. Alone

This week, as I sat at my dining room table eating dinner, the thought of loneliness swept over me.

Sitting across from me: An empty chair

The sounds all around me: Quietness

A couple weeks ago in counseling it hit me, as I word vomited to my counselor not even coming up for a breath of air, that even though I love my life and embrace the joy-filled moments everyday that doesn’t take away that feeling of coming home to an empty home and talking to my partner about my day or hearing the running around of little ones’ feet. In that moment on the couch in my counselor’s office, with tears streaming down my face, I knew I had hit a root:

I have moments of loneliness.

And that’s okay!

As I sat at my dining room table, acknowledging that I had these moments, I also felt an overwhelming sense of peace, knowing I was not entirely alone. I have the greatest friend I could ask for. He might not be physically present in human form, but I know He sees me, He is with me, and I genuinely believe I am not alone.

My prayer for you is no matter where you are in your life journey here on earth, you are reminded that it’s okay to hold space for joy and loneliness or whatever feelings you are having. But always know that you are never alone.

My Valentine’s Date

As I finished making my salad for dinner, I looked down and realized how beautiful it was.

It was then when I thought, 𝘐’𝘮 𝘨𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘰 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘢 𝘥𝘢𝘵𝘦 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘔𝘢𝘯 𝘸𝘩𝘰 𝘩𝘢𝘴 𝘢𝘭𝘸𝘢𝘺𝘴 𝘭𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘥 𝘮𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘩𝘢𝘴 𝘯𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘭𝘦𝘧𝘵 𝘮𝘺 𝘴𝘪𝘥𝘦, 𝘯𝘰𝘳 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘏𝘦 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳.

I rearranged my birthday bouquet and made two smaller ones that filled me with joy!

I came to the table thinking I would read over my speech I’m giving to a group of single women tomorrow that He helped prepare me for when I heard, “Come to Me.”

As I turned to Psalm 139 in my Bible, I found myself continuing to read the life-giving words that He had written for me (and you).

I quickly had tears welling in my eyes as they began to fall down my face.

I read from Psalms 139 through 145, and as I sat with my hands open, the glistening of tears on my face, I closed my eyes and was still.

It’s in these moments that I am learning that He speaks to me, and tonight His words were,

“I love you.”

As more tears surfaced, I said out loud,

“I know You do.”

He then whispered,

“I’m so proud of you.”

No more words from me, only more tears.

This date with Him was probably 15 minutes, but it’s one I will forever hold on to.

My response to a beautiful time with the One who fearfully and wonderfully created me was,

“Thank You, Lord!”

God feels you.

God sees you.

God hears you.

God loves you.

The questions to pause and reflect on are:

  • Where are you feeling, seeing, and hearing God?
  • How are you offering God’s love to not only those surrounding you but also to yourself?
